Captiva windshield

Asked by GuruB54KC Dec 10, 2018 at 05:37 PM about the 2013 Chevrolet Captiva Sport LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What causes the windshield to collect moisture, when the car is closed?  Also,
the driver's side floorboard gets very wet from somewhere.  It started about the
same time I noticed the moisture on the windshield.

The moisture is coming from the wet floor. As for the floor it could be a faulty door seal, or, if you have a sun roof, that could be it. Or coming from the firewall. I had this problem in a G6. I took the carpet out, dried it and soaked the car with a water hose. Ended up finding 3 leaks, but I still had moisture coming from somewhere.

The AC Condensation collection tube is inside the lower portion of the console on the captiva. If you will look where your feet would be, there is a panel on the inside of the console area you can pop out. There is a clear looking tube that is the condensation tube - check for leaks around the boot of the tube, or it could be cracked and/or leaking.
