1989 gmc sierra sle 1500 350 what would cuase all the contacts in my fairly new distributer cap (300 to 500 miles) to be co verde in a thick layer of bright green corrosion ?

Moisture probably. Has it sit for a while?

This is an old truck- you may need a new distributor- either moisture or oil, or oil vapor, or bad juju could be entering the cap from down under, engine side- or the cap itself is not sealing for some reason-

inside distributer lots of rust around pick up coil area could not figure out the cause
