Question type: Shopping & Pricing
I have a 1989 Ford F150 XLT Lariat 4WD fully restored, new paint, interior....everthing down to the ever last button. Was thinking about listing it for $10,000.00 to start is that a fair price? What would you suggest for the price I don't want to cut my throat and sell to low. I just want to get money back for paint job which was $5,000.00. The picture I submitted is prior to restoration.

Assuming it's a 4x4 with factory air and the 5.8 V8 in flawless condition, NADA high dealer retail is $7853. Just because you have X dollars in repairs and restoration does not automatically mean that those repairs add an equal amount to the value of the vehicle. If your next-door neighbor has an identical truck that's in perfect ORIGINAL condition, his truck is still worth more than yours, regardless of how much you spent on paint work. So no- I don't think you're starting too low.
Thanks for your help, I want to add this and see what you have to say. It is a 5.0L with factory air, electric windows & doors. which have been replaced all new. I will start with $10,000.00 and see what happens!

It 's a tough vehicle to put a number on because there are so few to compare it to, and I can't see it or drive it from where I'm sitting. If you need to sell it quickly, then I'd start at $9995, as most people search by price and "under $10,000" is a threshold that a lot of people would use. If you can afford to wait to get your price, then you can start anywhere you'd like. You should go to Ford Truck Enthusiasts and post your questions in the appropriate forum. This is a huge website monitored by real Ford Truck experts.
I will do just that, you have been very helpful... Thank you!!
Your potential customers will be individuals looking for a truck, contemplating something new, who have around 10G's for a down payment. If everything is new or remanufacturered show them the receipts. Considering the price of a new F150, one which basically has zero miles, ten g's may satisfy the 28G itch someone has.
If you do get it, I want to hire you to sell cars for me!!!!!
GREAT NEWS... TRUCK IS SOLD!!! We got the price we wanted... thank you everyone for the helpful answers.
