Question type: General
I have a 1988 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT 108" WB, VIN 1FTCR11T7JUA13176 that needs a new fuel tank. However, we have ordered 7 tanks and none of them fit.

may be you can get R.P.O. codes at a dealer from your vin. # . It's a list of options your vehicle came with .
Have you looked for a part number on the old tank?
Try Rockauto.com, I see a few different ones for your truck based on wheelbase. You can see pictures of them to be sure you're ordering the correct one. Hope that helps! Jim

We have ordered a tank 7 times and non of them have fit. It’s interesting because they all should fit, based on what we are told, but here I sit ... I’ll check with a Ford dealer. Thanks for the quick replies!

I’m checking into that as well as just getting a custom one made
