bypassing fuel resivor filter

Can a regular inline filter be put in place of the old duel line canister or
bypassed completly I only have a single tank and efi 2.3.. I got this truck used  
and it looks like someone has done some work on hte fuel system .

No, a regular filter won't work as it is not designed for that kind of pressure, you need a high- pressure filter that is used on EFI system, and it has to match the length of the tubes that connect to it. If you can't find the exact filter you can replace the vinyl line connectors to match the filter as that are made by aftermarket. A good parts guy can help.

I'm not seeing a dual line fuel filter for your truck. Are you possibly looking at the charcoal canister for the EVAP system? Here's the fuel filters I'm seeing. Jim
