First start by snugging up the intake manifold bolts, and check the throttle body base gasket. The EGR Valve would need to be checked also, that it is working and closing. May have to take it off and clean out the carbon build up. Then what you should look at after snugging up the intake, is while it is running, look at the injectors in the TBI. See that they are spraying a nice cone shape spray mist, should be no droplets of fuel at all. Fuel pressure would need to be checked, should be 9 to 13 lbs. Possible fuel pump, or the fuel regulator in the TBI may need to be rebuilt.
Hey rowefast thanks for the advice on what to do I had checked all of this steps previously including the egr, I had removed the egr to clean it but unfortunately this is when this all began I think the egr is good but if u think I'm checking it wrong please tell me how to properly check it all I did was make sure the pump goes up and down
On the EGR Valve, you can do this in place, first pull up on the diaphragm and put your finger over the hole for the vacuum line. It should be able to stay open some, not close all the way. Was all the carbon cleaned of the center pentle so it can close all the way? And is the air pump system working?
Oh, also when the engine is running, with the vacuum line attached to the EGR, pull up on the diaphragm, the motor should or should want to die out.
