Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Stock transmission....Rebuilt 350(unsure of year)
Just acquired 86 El Camino.  Just started engine after PO
Added 350 to stock transmission....Rolls in all gear selections from park to low.
Linkage is connected and engaging gear selector on tranny
correctly....Unhooked linkage and manually changed gear selector.  No joy...
Not sure where to begin.....Fluid level correct...Noticed a new torque converter
has been installed.

Yes perhaps...But to my knowledge transmission wasn't rebuilt and is original...Only engine was replaced.....But then again my knowledge of that is limited...
