How do i get my $4000 deposit back fro Capital Auto Group in Vaudreil

Asked by sens Oct 26, 2024 at 11:48 AM about the 2014 BMW X1 xDrive28i AWD

Question type: General

I put a deposit down of $4000 at Capital Auto group between 09.05-
09.06.2024
for a 2014 BmW X1 .On oct 1st due to a family member having a stroke and
no longer able to work i asked for my deposit back. They said accounting will
look after it  It has been 3 weeks and no one will call me back.On oct 18 I
spoke with Akram a sales person he said accounting had processed
payment and should have it any day.A week later no depost received. No
one from accounting called. No one returning my calls, emails or texts.I have
never been treated so poorly in my life.I would't want to be associated with
them if i were Car Gurus. Is someone able to contact them to address their
unbelievable service. Also they have sold the car that deposit was put on.So
they have my $4000 plus a payment in full on the same car.I have tried
everything.Soory for the long message.I hope someone can do something

Check with the Office of Consumer Affairs where the dealer is located. Usually when you put down a deposit on a vehicle you've entered into what's called a good faith agreement to buy the vehicle. Unless the documents you signed has an escape clause for you, the buyer, you've agreed to buy the vehicle. If you don't complete the sale, you're out of luck and forfeit your deposit. HOWEVER, some States have a cooling off period law for major purchases such as a vehicle or house. Where I live it's 3 days. This is why you need to talk to the Office of Consumer Affairs. You need to go to where the vehicle is located because it's those laws that govern the sale. Good luck to you!! Jim
