2003 Taurus no heat

Asked by Drew Nov 17, 2016 at 03:07 PM about the 2003 Ford Taurus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have great a/c, but no heat. I noticed my temp
gauge stays at C on the dashboard most of the
time, but if I drive over an hour it'll move up a little.
No more than a third of the way up. Any ideas?

The C would mean cold. I think you need a new thermostat. I would get a 190 degree one.

Thanks! Would a bad thermostat cause my issue with no heat?

The purpose of a thermostat is to regulate the engine operating temperature. If it is stuck open it will make the car run too cool and you won't get any heat.
