How to you check for excessive battery draw? And do you just take it to a shop to get the charging system checked?

i just charged the battery fully with my portable charger/jumper, and when i tried to crank it and it sounded like it was just about to turn over and then nothing. Tried to crank one more time and just clicking. Any thoughts on that? Thanks for trying to help me out
