Shift solenoid new from parts store isn't working at all.

I have a 99/00 dakota sport 5.9l v8 but recently it
stop shifting gears automatically  however if I
manually shift the gears myself it seems to work ok  
the codes that came up on my car reader/ob2  are
shift solenoid and torque converter solenoid ..

It very well can be another issue then. The solenoids are the ones detecting the problem, but the rest of the transmission can be worn requiring a rebuild. Have a transmission shop test it to determine a course of action.
