I have factory code that works keyless entry....cannot add more codes
I can enter car via keyless entry and factory code HOWEVER, I cannot add 2
new codes either on the keyless entry nor inside the vehicle touchscreen. I
have tried multiple times both ways...with owner's manual in hand to make sure
I am doing it correctly....the touchscreen won't even recognize the factory set
code.

Security features on vehicles operate solely on electronics. I suggest you do not meddle with it. It could result with the vehicle not starting.
thank you - I'll just use the factory code then not willing to pay $100 to be able to add a code
If you are trying to just add a second key fob, you don't need a second code. If you have the owners manual, it tells you how to set the second one. You have a window of 10-15 seconds to "set" the other fob.
Larry....thanks, but I have both original Fobs.....want to add 2 new codes.....even though I have the factory set code it doesn't allow me to add anything personal....
Okay. You can ONLY have a maximum of three fobs. You can only have ONE code for all three fobs. No personal code. Sorry, that just the factory way of doing it. As far as I know ALL brands have the same restriction.
I have an identical 2014 that I gave to my husband when I got this one....it has 2 fobs and a factory code and 2 personal codes....since they are both the same year I can't imagine not being able to do this....I give up....
Semantics... the factory master code which will let you set your own code. When you pick your own code, 12345 or whatever, that code will let you program 3 key fobs. All three will have thee same code. That is the only personal code that you can use.
