Humming/straining noise along with Whinning

Asked by KannikaTorres Jan 10, 2020 at 07:43 PM about the 2014 Ford Explorer XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My sister rear ended someone in my
2014 Ford explore. They fixed my
vehicle, but now there’s a
humming/strain that sounds like it’s
coming from my engine. I took it to the
dealerships and they said that they
would do diagnostics which cost me
an arm and a leg, nothing came of it.  I
took it back several times and the tech
actually rode with me and heard it and
said there’s definitely a problem, but
they can’t find the issue. I need to find
this issue before my years come up
with the insurance company. If it is
related to the crash, the insurance will
cover the repairs.  I had a whining
noise happen when I first got the
vehicle back in 2014 and it was my
right strut. I am hearing that same
whining noise every now and then as
well. I don’t know if the two are
related, but I hope that someone can
give me some direction.
