four wheel drive

Asked by GuruCFNVD Mar 08, 2019 at 05:48 PM about the 2014 Ford Escape SE AWD

Question type: General

The is an overhead picture of the car on the dash. I use to see the wheels light
up when it was operating in four wheel drive. I no longer see that. How can I tell
if the car is using four  wheel drive? or if it is not working?

My mom is having the exact issue with her '04 Escape. She was stuck in her driveway this morning (in Breckenridge Colorado - a ton of icy snow this past week)... And she turned the nob to "ON" and it was not engaging in 4wheel (no power to the rear wheels)... But the switched it to "AUTO" and power was obvious to all 4 wheels and she got out. But I think when switched to "ON" the rear wheelsxaren't getting any power. What could be wrong? We didn't see any lights or indicators on the dash... Help!!!!
