92 geo tracker

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought this tracker because
it is solid body and frame motor
purrs like new. Problem with
charging system . New battery,
alternator, and 60 amp relay.
Battery goes dead after driving for
one hour with heat or lights on.
Want to turn this tracker into a
P.O.W. tribute. Please help this vet
figure out what to do.

Well its obvious the alternator isnt operating. Could be worn contact brushes, bad regulator, bad connections in wiring. its not unheard of for a new alternator to be bad out of the box .....have it tested.

And if it is verified that the alternator does indeed work, check any fuse-able links in the wires running to the alternator. May have a burnt out fuse-able link fried from the old alternator.
