Changing brakes on 2002 wrx wagon

I can’t get the damn screws to slide back into the
caliper.  The 2 long ones   How the hell do you get
them back in?? I tried for an hour. Also I unscrewed
the brake line so I could get the piston pushed back
because I did not have a c clamp. My car wS towed
and the brakes were pushed.  Did I duck up the
system ?? Please help!!!!
