98 crown vic , ok when i accelerate it just does nothing it seems as if the timing is off but then it will pick up and then it boggs down and nothing again

how do i check the fuel pump i replaced the filter it was kinda like mud .iv changed it about 6 times since then and its gotten worse

The pump makes pressure as neede, you need a gauge connected to the fuel rail test port then road test while watching the gauge it should remain steady around 44 psi. I think. If you've got that much shit in the tank it's a good idea to remove the tank clean it and replace the pump module., I hope this helps, take care
