2001 crown vic won't start why?

Asked by Queenlor Jan 05, 2015 at 11:19 PM about the 2001 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Got a new battery.  Started right up.  Drove about 10 miles and then let it run about 10
more minutes.  Wouldn't start.  Ignition switch felt like I had to turn it farther than
normal.  Switch had felt like this a few days.  Click in ?fuse/relay box? by battery
when it wouldn't  start.  Battery still works.
1.  New ignition switch?  2.  New starter?3.  New alternator?

If there is any question at all about the ignition I would start there. Having a bad ignition switch can leave you stranded at the least opportune time.
