Question type: General

So while putting ATF in my car I accidentally
poured some on the engine not in the engine but
on the engine itself is that bad should I clean it I
notice it starts smoking so is that a bad thing it's
so hard to ask Google that question because it
keeps giving me the answer I'm not looking for if
you have to know I own a 2004 Ford Crown
Victoria Police Interceptor

Clean it up the best you can. Don't use degreaser and water as it will short out all your electronics.

The smoke and smell are actually worse than the spill. Do as F_O_R said and you'll be fine. You can also let the engine idle for a while to burn off most of the transmission fluid. It will take a day or two to completely burn it off. Hope that helps! Jim
