what transmission will replace a 2006 4.6 interceptor tranny

Ford 4R75W is what it has. Replacement needs to be the same as it is controlled by the ECM.
Pick and Pull site online lists transmission for cheap. Gears and dimensions have to be the same. The part number is usually located on the transmission or available with Vin number online. Some vehicles list specs in the owner's manual. Buying a cheap one replace and rebuild or WHY cheaper than new.

05 to 08. Has to be an interceptor transmission not because it is heavier duty, it's not, but because the output shaft and tail housing are longer on the interceptors then regular Crown Vics and Grand Marquies due to the use of an aluminum driveshaft.
I have a 2006 ford crown victoria police intercepter. My tranny went out and its extremely difficult to find my year thats not cost my my arms. Lol. Would a 2000 tranny work if its police pakage as well? Or any other year for that matter

Has to be from an 05 to 08 and be from another interceptor. Cannot use an 04 or earlier due to your car which has drive by wire throttle, that started in 05. 09 has changes also that won't work with your PCM.

What trannys will work for a 2006 intercepter.
My nephew has a 06 police interceptor his transmission just went out as we are speaking you can only put the police interceptor transmission back in these vehicles the 2005-2006 2007 and 2008 are the only ones you can put back in the tail on these are a lot longer due to the aluminum drive shaft in these
