Engine swap

Question type: Car Customization
I'm wondering if I can swap a Mustang GT engine
into my 2006 crown victoria. I know another 4.6
would fit or a 5.4 would with a little bit of extra
work but I'd prefer as close to plug and play as I
can get as I'll be doing the swap in the side yard of
the house.

Is the mustang donor engine also a 4.6? If so, yes. If it's a 5.0 mustang then not without changing everything associated....exhaust, belt driven accessories, computer.....not an easy swap by any stretch. The 4.6 and 5.0 are completely different
The only "plug and play" swap would be an identically equipped 4.6. A 5.0 swap would mean swapping out everything else too (harness, computer, sensors, exhaust, et al.), then getting it all to pass emissions (if required by your state). Try Crownvic.net, there are some write ups on that forum about 5.0 swaps and other Panther platform upgrades.

IV heard that some of them did come with a 4.6 that's why I was wondering cause I already have a 5.0 engine and trans combo in the shed waiting to go in when I have another vehicle I can use as my daily. I mainly just wanted a gt engine cause they are everywhere and have a little more in the HP/TQ areas and IV heard the gt engines have slightly better parts in them than normal.

More than likely I'll just go get another 4.6 from the junkyard and throw some decent internals in her and a few bolt ons and call it a day that seems to be the closest to plug and play and the performance I want as I can get without selling my soul to fund the project
