Crown Victoria Engine Swap

Asked by Reese Sep 13, 2020 at 03:40 AM about the 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2008 Crown Vic and well as most owners
know the engine leaves a little to be desired so I
was wondering what kind of engine swap could I
do thatll give me around 400 hp. With the new
engine Im guessing Ill need a new transmission as
well? What are some suggestions.

Hey Reese, search 2006 CROWN VICTORIA COYOTE 5.0L SWAP on the internet, you will come up to an article on the National Speed page where someone described the swap and what custom bits they need to do to make it work. I can't link the page here. You need the engine , a 6R80 transmission, ECM, all wiring, custom work the engine supports and headers. 397.4 HP. Before you get excited, the parts alone will set you back $10K. I don't know what your budget is. But I assume someone else will be doing the work since you asked the question. Labor costs especially custom labor is not cheap, maybe another $5K? Find a good garage mechanic in your area that does custom engine swaps.
