Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put a transmission in a 2009 Crown vic and it would only start in neutral. I
didn't bother dropping car for a drive. How can I fix this problem? Thanks

Also, I shift gears manually from neutral safety switch, but it would not start at
all.

There is a module on the drivers side of the trans. Loosen the small bolt that allows it to rotate. put the trans in park. If someone can hold the key in the start position while it is rotated until starter engages.

I'm having this same issue with a 2009 p71. New trans, only starts in neutral. Shop is saying it is most likely a stretched cable linkage. Wondering if this solved the issue
