Instrument Panel
Asked by Carson Apr 08, 2018 at 04:13 PM about the 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have an 09 crown vic police interceptor and the
speedometer and rpm gauge do not work and all
the warning lights are on. The only gauge that
works is the fuel gauge. The odometer doesn’t work
either. I have changed the cluster and it didn’t
change anything. Also changed the ecu and did not
change anything. Have taken the cluster out and
fiddled with the wires multiple times. Can’t find any
loose grounds or anything.

Has anyone found a solution? Same thing started with my Vic
I have a 2011 crown vic and it was doing the same thing. I called the main garage that works on all the police cars in the area I live and ask them if they had run across this problem. They told me they had several and the fix they had found was a loose connection in the drivers side floorboard. They said behind the hood release kick panel was 2 gray plugs with several pin connectors in them. They said to clean them and put some good dielectric grease in them and it fixed most of the cars doing this. I tried this and it fixed mine and it’s been working for over a week now.
2009 FORD CROWN VIC! JUST FIXED!
Carson, did this fix yours. I have an 08 with exact issue. I’m going to try to clean the plugs as mentioned.
Tried tinkering around the trim behind the hood release as mentioned previously. I pressed the connections in but couldn't directly locate the connection described. Went to start the car, and got my IC back. It's most definitely a connection in that general area
Yesterday I tried to take my cluster out my 1985 Ford ltd but couldn't get it out so pushed it back in know my gas gauge and cluster lights not working I see a plug under there unhook but don't know we're it go
Success thank you still have dim odometer though.
