low oil pressure on gauge

Asked by Bruce Jun 28, 2020 at 08:08 PM about the 2006 GMC Envoy SLE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After engine is warm, idle will drop to zero at idle. Pressure starts to build with acceleration. No strange noise when at zero.

Bruce, start cheap! It's very common on our platform (I6 engine) for the oil pressure sensor to go bad. It's located right above the oil filter. If there's oil on it, it's bad. Pretty easy job.
