2014 Chevy Captiva Sport LTZ Defroster No Temp Variance

Asked by Tony Mar 14, 2019 at 07:09 PM about the 2014 Chevrolet Captiva Sport LTZ

Question type: General

I have a 2014 Chevy Captiva Sport LTZ. My defroster has no variance. It is either extremely cold or extremely hot. The dealer is stating that this is the way the car is designed. I have never owned a car where there isn't a variance of temperature. Thoughts? Solutions? I have already submitted a Bureau of Automotive Repair Complaint here in California for resolution. I have also called GM customer service and their hands are pretty tied with forcing the dealership to resolve the issues at hand.

I have a 2013 ltz that does the same thing. Its as if that whole panel has a mind of it's own. Its annoying when its hot outside and the temp won't switch over to A/C. Even the air pressure comes out really weak. Then one day, everything will be working fine, but then the next, its acting up again. I also have problems with it stalling and cutting off. I was in the middle of a U turn while it cut off. Everything lost power and the steering wheel locked up. It was a very scary moment. The car has about 97,000 miles on it.
