Ended up taking it to a shop to get it fixed. They were able to plug it into a computer and get the door to open. The computer most over ride something to get it to open because the lock on the door still never moved. They replaced the Actuator and all is good now, it just was a lot more expensive then if I could have done it myself.

Thank you for that reply! Chrysler dealorship gave estimate of $1200. That means an I dependent would probably charge $5-600 but would they be able to disable the actuator with a computer?? Good question. Thanks again!

is is what I found out. I took it to the dealer and they gave me a quote of $1300. I took it to a body shop and paid $320!! Here is what the problem is- it’s an actuator. That part is maybe $100-200 and it is not that complicated to repair. IF your door was open you could probably replace it yourself. But since the door is shut and stuck that way you have to get the door panel off from the inside with the door shut. A body shop is the best person to do this. Don’t trust the dealer with this because it’s body work! The dealer will break the door panel and that is why you are paying so much for. In my case, once the body shop got the door panel off they were able to get a good grab hold of the bar that goes in to the actuator and they were able to jam that bar toward the actuator which unlocked the door. Once the door was unlocked, it opened easily because there was nothing wrong with the door opening mechanism- it was just stuck locked. Once the door was open it’s an easy fix.

Hubby just replaced the door actuator because the door would not open and close when you pushed the main switch on the overhead panel or with the key remote. Also the door would not lock and unlock with the key remote. Now the door locks and unlocks with the key remote but the door will not open and close every time. It is a hit and miss. 2006 Town and Country Limited edition. Anyone else have this problem?
