Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Check Engine light goes on - computer says 2nd cylinder misfiring.
Replaced coil and all spark plugs (tune up stuff) cleaned the coil / spark
plug - checked to make sure not the fuel injector.   Now at a loss.

From the front of the van looking in on the engine, the number 2 cylinder is leftmost on the bank nearest you. Hopefully that is the coil pack that you replaced. But getting ahead of myself. First off i would listen to the engine at idle. If you hear a ticking/clicking sound near cylinder 2 that is more likely to be the problem rather than a coil or injector. If you hear a ticking/clicking sound that is likely to be a bad rocker arm and you will probably have to take it to somebody (not the dealer) to have it looked at. If no ticking/clicking, good. I would change my focus to the fuel injectors. Get a name brand fuel injector cleaner and follow the directions on the label. If that does not solve the problem....then i would check the spark plug. Since a visual inspection may not detect a bad plug, you might just want to put in a new one. If that does not solve the problem.... then i would swap the #2 and #4 coil packs and see if the misfire moves with the coil pack to cylinder 4. If not, then the coil pack seems ok. Beyond these few things you probably cant do much more on your own. You will probably need to take it to somebody (not the dealer) to have it looked at.
