why doesn't my samsung galaxy s4 work with my chrysler town and coutry u connect

Asked by tjbdadof3 Jan 09, 2015 at 10:45 PM about the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: General

I just bought a 2014 Chrysler town and country touring. I connected my Samsung galaxy s4 via Bluetooth using the uconnect . It only works about 10% of the time, at first I thought it was because I had it plugged in charging. It made a difference when I unplugged the phone, it worked twice. now I say "call home" it says "calling home" then starts to call home , it shows the number on the radio, then after a few rings it goes away and my phone shows on the screen that it is still calling via Bluetooth.
I get text message alerts through the Uconnect. Any suggestions would help, Thanks

I presume that you paired the phone according to the owners manual? Check to see that it is done. You should only have to do this once. It's a 2014, why not have your dealer assist you?

I have the same problem my 2014 Town and Country its the phone its not Chrysler I just bought a new Samsung edge and it works just fine the software on the galaxy is a 4.2 software and the new edge is 4.4 point for a works just fine Chrysler change the radio and another unit and didn't make any difference and he is in the phone software

May I make a suggestion, look next time for a Google Nexus phone directly from the Google Play Store. Updates to the latest Android version get sent directly from Google in Mountain View, California bypassing your carrier. This is the easiest way to ensure that you'll always be up to date The carriers are notorious for selling you a subsidized phone, adding the extra cost into your monthly service, and then blocking your phone from updates after a couple of years, forcing you to get a new phone from them and starting all over again paying the equipment fees. Most Google phones are updated to Kit Kat 4.4 or higher. Good luck.

If you act real fast, you can still get a great deal on a Google Nexus 5, under $400 for 32 GB phone. I have one and it's great. They may be temporarily out of stock, but keep checking. Its a great unlocked phone. An excellent value. I previously had a Galaxy S3 and the Nexus is a pure Android phone with no bloatware
