Misfiring on cylinder 4
Asked by Brianna Jul 03, 2018 at 07:42 PM about the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited FWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a misfire on my cylinder 4 on my 2014 jeep
cherokee limited, and was wondering what would
be the obvious problem? I know possibly spark
plugs because I don't really feel that bad of a
power loss if it was anything like fuel intake or
anything like that

It scans the code for cylinder 4 and basically recommends spark plugs and coil packs to be replaced but I went to a mechanic shop and they said it could be other things too like a possible leak in the vacuum pump/hose
Well I know it could possibly be spark plugs I just need to consider it might be more than just that I don't have much to spend on finding more problems ugh this is what I get for getting a used car...this jeep already had a new transmission put in it by jeep back in beginning of June warranty covered it then literally like a week later the cylinder started misfiring I wish it was an error from them but they checked and claimed it wasn't from them but had a friend look and saw multiple tabs broken from installing the new tranny but who knows if that had an effect on it.

I have this happen all the time, its ford engines not Jeeps but it is always the coil, I'venever seen it be anything else, usually go ahead and change the plug also. When this starts it's usually inevitable to have to do all of them. You can wait and do them one at the time as they fail or just go ahead and do it all together. Hope that helps.
Yeah I think I'm going to do that firestone here wanted to charge me $800 for all 6 on spark plugs and coil packs I'm like I just want the bad one changed they're like oh well you need to get all of them changed I'm like uh I'M THE CUSTOMER it should be what I want, but I found a better place
