I can buy a used 2014 BMW 328XI with 12000 miles. Do I take it to a BMW dealer for the extended warrantee and which should I get for the purpose of cost.

I agree Tom, I tend to shy away from extended warranty...because they never seem to cover for repairs that you need...

Tom has it nailed. Not all extended warranties are created equal so if you go ahead, do your research and get a good one.
