2004 GMC Envoy is stuck in 4 wheel drive. Can not get it to switch

Why can you not get it to switch? intentionally locked out? Is there a reason why you should not be able to take it out of 4wd? wheels gotta be aligned or something crazy like that?, or a blown fuse? did you take a look at your fuses? this mechanism has some vacuum lines what activate it. Look underneath to see if these vacuum lines are still in place...could just be a loose vacuum connection~

okay, there is a small motor what engages 4 or 2 wheel drive...see if this one is working or power to it is failing~

perhaps a connector has come unplugged to it, or wires were torn by road rocks and debris (stranger things have happened)~ leadin' to short-out and small fire~

My Transmissions only going into first and second gear what would cause that
