operation of motor temperature SLK 250

Asked by GuruDTMJ84 Jul 20, 2024 at 04:01 PM about the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLK 250

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

red light comes on in hot weather when coolant temperature gets close to 100.
Especially happening in 90 + degree weather.  I had fluent checked and it was
fine.  Is this normal for red light to go on?

If you mean 100 degrees Celsius that's kind of low (212°F) for the warning light to be coming on. Have a reputable shop, that specializes in imports, check it out. Something is going on with the cooling system. It's not normal. Jim
