What should have been the price?

Asked by GuruDBT44 Aug 22, 2017 at 11:58 AM about the 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL

Question type: General

I was sold by dealer a rear damaged rebuilt Altima 2014 SL 2.5 car without
any notification in 2014.It was a demo car.It costed me 36000.
Since last Dec I see water seeping into my trunk.I took to another dealer in
Montreal where i am residing now.And to my horror I came to know the car
was rebuilt.I don't know what to do now.
How much should have been the price of the car at the time?
What can I do other than buying a new car from the same cheater?

Was it a clear title or "rebuilt" title? Most states make it a provision for salvage and rebuilt vehicles to have titles that state as much. Also what does Carfax say about car? Your own insurance company should also know if car had been rebuilt. The only way the state or insurance companies would never know is if the dealer made the repairs in house without any claims. In that case your only recourse would be a lawsuit.

Thanks for your response Ken. Yes, the dealer repaired the car at his workshop. It was sold to me by bluff without intimating about the repair to me.How much is the depreciation of such a rebuilt car? They say they'll replace the car with the same mileage and trim level only if they could find any.Till then I keep on giving them the loan every month! I asked them to wave off my pending loan but they are not agreeing to it. I am a student in Montreal and they are in Ontario. It's difficult for me to fight from here.I checked on Better Business Bureau site. There are about 9 complaints against them and 7 of them have been failure to conclusion.Which is very discouraging.Even the lawyers say there is no confirmation of getting any compensation.

Oh sorry didn't see poster was from Canada. I think this still comes down to firing a lawyer and filing suit. OP, OP means "original poster" or "original post", in other words, you. As you state this dealer has a history on not coming through on their own commitments, then obviously their word is no good and you should not rely on anything they promise you that isn't in writing. A threat of a lawsuit might goose them to coming through, or better yet an actual lawsuit. I don't know if you bought this car new, or used, if it was use I think you have a real case, if it was used "as is," with no warranty implied you might be out of luck. Remember one thing, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. So start squeaking and don't stop until these cheaters pay up.
