Camry won't start after fuel leakage check, what's the problem?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello all, I have a question regarding my 2014 Toyota Camry. I live in
Houston and we just had a hurricane. My Camry recieved what looked like
minimal damage (a little water on the floorboard). I was at a friends for some
days and after the storm was able to drive home, and to other places as
needed for a couple days. Today my car started making a humming noise
after I turned it off which is related to the Camry's fuel system leakage check.
I thought it was no problem and let it run. Several hours later when I tried to
start the car it wouldn't. I would hear only clicks. The headlights would turn on
but when I tried to stat the car they would dim or go off. I thought it was a
battery problem so I started to jump it. I weird thing happened though, when I
connected the wires, the camry started making the humming noise as if it
had never finished the leakage check and drained the battery trying to. I tried
to start the car, it would turn over once the devolve into clicks again. Any
ideas whats wrong? Do i have a fuel pump leakage? Battery/alternator
problem? Another flood related problem? Any ideas would be much
apreciated

that may not be the fuel check, something may be shorting out, killing the stored battery power, try to find the source of the hum and pull the fuse to it till it drys out or whatever the sensors for the airbags can be at the floor seatbelt winding something like that

Sorry about your city- my daughter lives there and she lost one of her cars- for everyone's general information- "a little water on the floorboard" is a little too much- when the water gets high enough to get INSIDE your car, it is devastating to the electrical components and connections in the interior- imagine what it would cost to have a qualified mechanic take the interior apart and go through ALL the electrical connectors and clean them- sorry for the bad news, but 21st Century cars and high water do not mix-
