Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 Toyota Camry L base model. The A/C has
started giving trouble and it is weird. I can crank the car
up and turn the A/C on and it might barely start blowing
cold air and if I start driving maybe 5 miles it will all of a
sudden run will pick up where it needs to be or if I crank
the car up it won't come till I'm down the road a distance
and sometimes when it does finally start working properly
if I adjust the fan controls it starts acting up again I could
really use some help it's the only car we have with A/C for
my 18 month so. Thanks

Sounded like electrical until the runs when driving that sounds like its low on R34 or evaporator. Have a Auto A/C man (shop) take a look at it for you.

I guess I should clarify when I crank the car up and turn the A/C on nothing happens the blower doesn't come on at all nothing happens or I can turn it wide open and it will blow likes it is on low it's blowing cold air fine just not where he knob is set and then I can go a few miles down the road and it will come on wide openand after it comes on it works ok. But sometimes it will act up if I change the fan setting it doesn't do this all the time it is intermittent

I think the switch that turns the blower up & down is bad or maybe the electric motor in the blower. Being a 2014 did you get the extended warranty? If so it may be covered.

That's what I was thinking but I wanted some clarification and wanted to ask because I don't know everything and I know their are people that know a lot more than me and honestly I don't think we did it only has 40,000 miles I have a little A to B work truck I drive. I don't know if that would be covered under bumper to bumper or power train.

Any warning lights on or flashing? How about the AC indicator light?

I believe your AC System is computer controlled. The diagnosis usually requires a Bidirectional Scan Tool and an AC pressure Test Gauge Set. Suggest your choice of repair facility has this special equipment. Good luck and keep us up to date concerning this interesting issue.

I have the exact same problem. There is a good charge in the system. I gambled on the control panel on the dash. that did not change anything. Do general shops have Bidirectional scan tools or is this a dealer only thing. I do conventional ac work but this crap is to dang complicated and I was an auto electrician.

I Have Toyota Camry 2014 The A/C system works but the airflow is very low at high speed, and in the first three or four low positions there is no airflow. He's really just working at the two highest speeds.
