Asked by 040705 Dec 19, 2019 at 08:42 PM about the 2002 Ford Mustang Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Once my car reaches 3/4 of a
tank it struggles to stay started it
dies whether I'm driving on the
freeway or him stopped at a stop
light I fill it with gas in it chugs as
though is going to run out of gas
and consistently dies unless that
for quite some time 6 trips to the
shop later and nobody seems to
know what is wrong with my car
as I am stranded right now

1 Answer

When it dies try removing the gas cap and then reinstalling it. If you hear it suck air in when you remove the cap there is a venting problem.
