2002 mustang V6 , start up lagg and missing , then roars and goes like a beast!

i want to fix the start lagg
seems like the engine is coughing or sumthing!

my 2000 mustang did something like that before it threw a code having something to do with the egr sensor... I think they call it a DFPE sensor it controls the amount of exhaust gas going into the intake. Another sign that this is the problem is at low throttle there may be a pulsing feel from the motor. But untill the check engine light comes on it could be hard to nail down.
