2014 honda pilot.

Asked by Gail Jun 01, 2016 at 06:00 PM about the 2014 Honda Pilot LX 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Between 25 and 39mph, car makes engine sound like a diesel.  Been to
dealer 3X with it to no avail, as they can't hear it. Tried to record sound, cabin
is too noisy. Anyone else with this issue?  I'm read to trade it in.  Told me to
turn radio on... I don't enjoy music while driving.  I thought belt tension, they
tell me all is well.   It is very difficult to hear, but if one listens, it can be heard,
however not all the time.  Thank you.

I have owned 5 Pilots. The models with the VCM engine have this type of noise when the VCM shuts down the ignition and fuel on two or three cylinders while in light throttle light load situations. Its most likely a Characteristic of the car and not something out of the ordinary..
