rough ride

I just bought a 2014 dodge dart and the ride is crazy rough. Mechanic says that it's normal for my car.  I think that is bullshit.  Anyone actually improve their ride quality after having this problem? How?

the shocks should be doing their job , if they're some kind of air ride system they may be seized and you might be able to get a conversion coil over shock . Is it a ' buck board " ride ?
