i know this might sound obvious but on my 98 jimmy the 4x4 button is on the dash to the left of the radio. you can pop that out and maybe one of the wires is unplugged.. just a though

I’ve been looking into and also have same problem a mechanic told me there is a dorman 4wd indicator light switch that you replace on the front differential and that should get it all Back up and running. I’m going to try this myself $25 worth a shot. I’m going to double check for power to both that switch and the push button switch on dash tho as well.

ok so i have a new transmission put in and the mechanic forgot to put the transfer case encoder motor back on, the t-case valve bolt is gone and the actuator cable wasn't hooked up. i replaced the transfer case encoder motor, hooked up the actuator cable to the front axle and got the valve lines and t-case valve bolt (will put on tomorrow.) then should i pull the #8 fuse under the hood to reset the 4x4 control?

I have the same problem in a 2003 chevy s10 zr5, i bought a parts truck for it and changed the switch from the parts truck(it for sure worked in there) and put it in my truck and still havung the issue. The 2wheel and 4high and 4low will turn on with the lights but the yellow indicator still missing, when i press the different buttons nothing happens, really hope someone can come up with an answer

I had the same issue with my zr2 today... so it turns out that is for some reason the 4x4 switch is powered by the interior lights. The drivers door open sensor was broken out of the dash below the fuse panel and I pulled the broken assembly out and got interior lights... and the lights on my 4x4 selector came on for a minute and went back off. The other problem I was having was the plastic tab on the back wasn't holding the wire securely to the 4x4 switch. It was honestly a clusterfuck but a few beers and a few buddies and we got her figured out

The dashboard switch plug was loose, business card wedge on one side, works great now! Also the 10A fuse for the dome light was out and that runs that dashboard switch!
