Switch on good, no crank at all. Audi A3 8V

Asked by GuruF9LP8 Apr 13, 2020 at 12:46 AM about the 2015 Audi A3 1.8T Premium Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Audi a3 8v 2015,
Car can be switched on, all lights are good. Even playing
music.
When it comes to starting the car, engine won't crank at all.
After few attempts, dashboard tells to engage transmission
to P or N. Which It was on P from the beginning.
A mechanic told it was the solenoids, but then it wasn't. They
replaced with a new one, and the same thing happened. No
crank at all.
They also said it wasn't the starter, not mechatronic.
Would it be the fuel pumps? Wirings?

On the tranny, where the shift linkage attaches to it. There should be a box be try when linkage and tranny, that's ur Tom ( transmission control module) that are known for going bad and not picking up what gear it is actually in. Although the dash says so and the transmission is as well, the tcm tells the computer that it's not. Hope this was helpful to you
