My 1998 f150 with 225k miles (not rebuilt) on it does not use any oil, I do not have to add any oil between oil changes. 10w30w mobil 1 full synthetic oil has been used since 2001.

Its not normal for it to be using oil. I have a 1992 model also and it burns a puff when started up if set for a few weeks but I do not have to add any to it either.
