Passenger side head light out.

Asked by Octavia29 Sep 20, 2013 at 10:50 PM about the 1999 GMC Envoy 4 Dr STD 4WD SUV

Question type: General

My 1999 GMC Envoy headlight went out and I have taken it to three mechanics and they said they have never seen a headlight bulb like that before. The number on the bulb is 16524491. Auto Zone said they think it is a aftermarket put on from the previous owners. How am I suppose to fix or found this part? Please advise, any help would be appreciated.

Bring the bulb to the parts store. They can match any thing just because the dealer says you have to have a certain bulb is BS! All manufactures have different numbers for bulbes. Looked for a standard 1157 bulb could not find that number but guess what they called it a different number why I do not know just another way to rip off the public I guess

The part No.16524491 is not a GMC product, it's an aftermarket product which is very rare and very few were made. An alternative is a GMC 19208059 or 19208060, cost for right side is 1242.00, left side 1160.00. How depressing and I hope no one has to experience what I'm going through right now. I did find one on e-bay for 425.00 but it was already sold. Thanks to all of you for responding.

Octavia29...the right parts store will sell you something that plugs right in for cheap that may or may not have the specifications that you desire~
