As a previous owner of a 6 speed manual MX-5 Miata, I can tell you that as rev-happy as that 2.0 L 4 cylinder was.....I wasn't taking a chance on anything but Full Synthetic Oil. Your new 2.5 L 4 cylinder SkyActiv Tech engine is supposed to create more low/mid-range torque (better performance) while giving you better MPG's. I'd suggest Full Synthetic every 7,000-7,500 miles or at least Synthetic Blend (maybe every 5k miles). Congrats on your new Mazda CX-5, you made a great choice! Should be a pretty peppy engine with 184 HP :)
Internet people? What is that supposed to mean Robbyextreme? You, the one with the smug know-it-all look. Opps forgive me, I'm just one of the Internet people. One that answered directly, and accurately to the question. Correcting your blatant error in product description ..if that's nitpicking then you are the one with OCD. For your information dealers are among the least reliable places to get accurate information about your car. Service writers and salespeople know less about the products than your average shade-tree mechanic.
No one "nitpicking" over here. I've owned 2 Mazda's (3rd gen. 2011 MX-5 and an older 1991 RX-7) and have a decent understanding of their 4 cylinder and rotary engines. Is it really necessary to resort to bickering on here?
