Saturn97lover, Forrester oil consumption

Asked by 15FrustratedForreste... Apr 06, 2019 at 03:52 PM about the 2015 Subaru Forester 2.0XT Premium

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We bought a 2015 Subaru Forrester in October
2014. We to were told the excessive oil use "was
normal for these box engines". We are now close
to the warranty period being over and they are
finally doing a oil consumption test.  We loose over
a quart of oil in between every oil change. We just
passed the first consumption test, they had to add
a quart of oil because we were going out of town &
the oil was to low to drive that many miles & we
were 3 ounces to much to fail the test. So we are
going to do it again. I am going to get this car a
smog test before the warranty period is up
because I can't imagine that it would pass the way
it is.
ANOTHER CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SOUNDS
WARRANTED TO ME after seeing how many of us
are out there with the same problem.

One quart in 3,600 miles is acceptable (Subaru standard). Apparently you are using a quart in 5 to 6,000 miles? If you want less than that I doubt any lawyer would talk to you.
