why would the battery drain in my 1998 Jimmy when i replaced the alternator and battery.

I replaced the alternator and battery. however the battery wont stay charged
and drains if  i give it gas or hit the brakes.

I would have the alternator checked....maybe you got a bad one. Happened to me. Same for battery

I had them both checked and for some reason the alternator voltage regulator failed the test on both alternators. they said it could be something is grounding it out.

hmmm. Have you had any electrical problems recently before this?

Curious, at what store did you get the alternator? Some rebuilt alt. are just garbage. They don't rebuild the whole unit, just what looks bad.
