Nissan Altima delayed acceleration

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2015 Nissan Altima and there are times where I try to step on the gas
pedal but wont go until after about 10 seconds. Then as I drive the rpm shoots
up to around 30-50 while driving slow. There is a weird sound coming from the
engine as well while all of this is happening.

Would do a obd scan first. Possible faulty pedal accelerator sensor. Sometimes they set codes but not always. For most newer cars it's all drive by wire style. I would have a look at the throttle body to make sure nothing is sticking there as well. Would not hurt to give it a cleaning. Check all your fluid levels especially the transmission oil.

I just recently started having the same issue. The engine revs as if the car can't get out of 2nd gear while I'm driving 60mph
My 2015 Altima 90k miles had same issues. Took it to some very expensive mechanics at a big Nissan dealer where the issue was found. P1518 and p0776 was the cause. Replace the transmission valve body and reprogrammed tcm. Issue was solved.
PROBLEM FIXED for $21.99!!! My 2010 Nissan Altima was having the same problem.... VCD Off & SLIP lights came on.... delayed acceleration after being stopped. After reading on another forum that changing the brake light switch fixed the problem, I decided to give it a shot. Bought a new brake light switch at ORiellys for $21.99, looked up on YouTube how to install it (took less than 2 mins with no tools necessary, being a girl with NO mechanical experience) and wallaaa problem was immediately fixed. Hope this helps some of you out there!!!
