2015 Lincoln Navigator power shut off while driving

Asked by LincolnNavigatorGuy Aug 21, 2024 at 01:02 PM about the 2015 Lincoln Navigator 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While driving home about 2 miles away, my Navigator (86k miles) lost
seemingly all power going about 40 mph. Engine stayed on, and power
steering and brakes felt fine. All screens went off, and a message
"Transmission not in Park" appeared on the dash. I made it home, put in
park, but then could not shut if off. There was no power, so the start/stop
button wouldn't respond. I could not shift to Drive or Reverse to get to a
shop. Holding down the power button didn't work. Even the shift lock button
wouldn't move so i can try to manually shift. Eventually, a mechanic friend
pulled the fuel injector chip from under the hood to shut if off. We unplugged
the battery for a while and then everything seemed to reset and now it drives.
Still waiting on the shop to call me back as they investigate, but wondering if
anyone has seen this before. very strange electrical problem....
