If you are under 18 you likely can not buy insurance yourself, you will need to be on a parent's or guardian's insurance. It won't be cheap.

My parents are paying for the car and insurance, they wanted me to do some research so I could give them an estimate

If you just got your license then expect to pay a pretty big premium. Our insurance almost doubled when we added our daughter because she was a new teen driver. Having good grades will get you a slight discount and several companies have the monitor you can put in the vehicle that will grade different things that could give you another minor discount. The other thing to keep in mind is the age of the vehicle the teenager will be driving. In 2015 when we added our daughter she drove a 2013 Chevy cruze. One of the reasons the insurance was so high is because they considered that a "newer" vehicle. I can only imagine what it will be for a 2015 Mustang. Hope this helps.
